New book chapter : An analysis of electronic voting in Belgium: Do voters behave differently when facing a machine?
Teaser: In 1991, Belgium was one of the first countries to test on-site electronic voting (e-voting) for political elections.1 Since then, the country has continuously used e-voting in all of its binding elections (from the local to the European ones). In addition, this implementation has been scattered around the country as some municipalities used e-voting while other (sometimes neighboring) municipali- ties used paper voting. These three elements – continuity over almost 30 years, use for all binding elections and implementation in only some municipalities – make the Belgian case of e-voting unique worldwide.
